Doctrinal Statement- "What I Believe and Teach....."
The entire Bible is the inspired Word of God (2nd Timothy 3:16).
All have sinned, must repent, confess, forsake their sin, believe and obey God's Word (Roman 3:23; 10;9, Acts 2:38, John 3:16).
Believer's Baptism is by submersion in the water (Matthew 3:13-17, Mark 16:16).
Non conformity to the world (1st John 2:15, Roman 12:1-2).
Men are to be the Spiritual leaders of the home and church (1st Corinthians 11:3, Ephesians 5:23, 1st Corinthians 11:7-9, Genesis 3:16).
God's design for marriage is one man and one woman for life. Divorce and any other deviation from God's design is a sin but may be forgivable for the genuine contrite spirit and repentant individual (Mark 10:6-9, Ephesians 5:31-33, 1st John 1:8-10).
It is necessary for Christians to seek to become actively a part of a local church in attendance, participation and stewardship (Hebrew 10:25, Acts 2:41-47).
The church has the authority to make practical applications to the principles of God's Word and needs to do so if it will maintain those principles in the lives of its member (Matthew 16:18-19).
The office of Pastor is established by, empowered by, and protected by God as the sole responsibility for preaching, teaching, training, leading and rebuking His church. Any and all other positions established or created operate under and exist through the Pastor (Jeremiah 3:15, Ezekiel 3:17-21; 34:23-24, Acts 20:28).
Salvation is a gift of God through Grace and by Faith. This faith confirms that there is no other name under heaven that we are save except Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8-9, John 3:16-17; 14:6).
About God: We believe in one God, Creator and Sustainer of all things, soverign and supreme, existing eternally as three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit with each person being fully God.
About Man: We believe that man was created in the image of God to glorify Him by enjoying Him forever.
About Sin: Sin is any act or attitude that is contrary to God's moral law, whether conscious or unconscious. We believe that through the fall of man, sin entered the world and man is now born into sin. This sin separates man from his holy Creator.
About Jesus Christ: We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, both fully God and fully man in one person, King of kings and Lord of lords. He was born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, suffered at the hands of earthly authorities, was obedient to His Father even unto death on a cross, and was raised from the dead on the third day thus proving He is Lord and Christ. After forty days, He ascended into heaven where He sits at the right hand of God making intercession on our behalf.
About the Holy Spirit: We believe in the deity and personhood of the Holy Spirit who convicts the world concerning sin, righteousness, and judgement. He is sent to indwell the believer, provides power for righteous living, equips people for service in the church, and guides into truth. He is the deposit guaranteeing our inheritance to come.
About the Church: We believe in the one, holy, universal Church which is the community of all God's elect for all time. The Church has been commissioned to be a light unto the world and to make disciples among all nations. We recognize the abiding significance of the sacraments of baptism and the Lord's Supper. We believe in the gifts of the Holy Spirit, which will be used in service of the Church until the Lord returns.
About Scripture: We believe that the canon of the Old and New Testaments is the authoritative standard for the faith and practice of the Church. All Scripture is inspired by God. It is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness.
Last Things: We believe Christ is coming again to judge the living and the dead. The righteous shall receive fullness of life and joy and will be raised up and given a body conformable to Christ's glorious body and shall live forever. Those who do not believe will receive everlasting punishment apart from Him in hell.
